about LIFE FOR REAL

WHAT WE DO

Pulitzer-prize-caliber visual storytelling to Help ATTRACT, RETAIN and REACTIVATE DONORS & VOLUNTEERS.

Our projects deliver months … sometimes years … worth of ready-to-use content you can access quickly for social media, presentations, fundraising campaigns, newsletters, reports, website, etc.

The pictures and stories you receive will be of your organization, your team, your stakeholders and your beneficiaries … which have far greater impact and influence than the generic stock photography many nonprofits rely upon, for lack of a better alternative.

HOW WE DO IT

EXPLORE

What are your goals? What audience do you want to reach and what outcomes do you want from them? How much content will you need?

PLAN

Design project(s) that highlight: (1) the work you do, (2) the needs you address, (3) the impact you make, and (4) how the your supporters’ contributions make an impact on the world.

CREATE

Plan in hand, I create the content you will use to achieve the goals you’ve set.

DELIVER

We review work I’ve created and ways to use it that will maximize the value to your organization.

WHY WE DO IT

Charitable organizations exist to make the world a better place.

That is the same reason I became a photojournalist.

By working with nonprofits and NGOs, Life for Real helps bring donors, volunteers and nonprofits together so vital progress can be achieved.

The world needs organizations like yours to thrive. By doing our jobs well, we can ensure you make as large an impact as possible.

WHO DOES IT

I’m a photographer.
More specifically, a photojournalist.
More importantly, a storyteller.

I am Mark Osler and, in my career, I have:

  • earned over 30 national and international awards for photography and picture editing;

  • helped a Canadian nonprofit highlight how its school-building efforts are reshaping and re-energizing communities in rural Kenya;

  • been awarded a Pulitzer prize in 2003 for team coverage of wildfire devastation in Colorado; and,

  • documented the historic 2008 Democratic and Republican conventions, as well as Barack Obama’s 2009 Inauguration in Washington, DC.

I engage in worthwhile struggles, pursue dreams that matter, and share my good fortune with others. I also travel (24 countries so far), play guitar (and, soon, piano), and one day – many years from now – know I will die a happy man because of the two amazing kids I’ve raised.

Finally, I am a tireless advocate for purpose-driven businesses … like yours.
